Where Is HGTVs 'Home Town' Filmed? 'Home Town' TV Show Location

After all, the small Southern city is where Home Town is filmed, and the Napiers are the stars of the HGTV show. Of course, since the show first began in 2016, Laurel has made tremendous progress. Not only is there a tourism boom in the area, but the Napiers believe people are buying vacation houses in the area at lightning speed. What makes Home Town so special is that all of the work is being done in Ben and Erin's actual home town of Laurel, Mississippi.

Sanderson Farms retaliated against our coverage of the Burroughs case by pulling its sponsorship of Bobcat Jr., a publication that is aimed at promoting reading in our grade schools. Greg’s sister-in-law Hillary Burroughs is Sanderson Farms’ marketing director official and the company’s fleet of trucks is furnished by the Burroughs Company, owned by Greg’s uncle. It’s time that we admit to ourselves that the blacklight that has been cast upon us shows that all of us have specks of Katherine Sinclair’s blood on our hands. A couple that's moving back to Mississippi is looking for a spacious home for under $260,000 where they can host friends and throw parties. They have their heart set on one of the options, but it's out of their range, leaving them to either negotiate or settle on the home they can afford.

Home Town (TV series)

The town was reportedly chosen for the HGTV spinoff show after the series received 5,000 submissions representing 2,600 towns from across the country. According to officers, Aviles has 26 prior arrests and is described as one of the New York Police Department's "most prolific recidivist burglars." Aviles also had two active bench warrants, at the time of her arrest, for failure to appear in court. We'd love to hear eyewitness accounts, the history behind an article.

WDAM may be OK with sacrificing what is right in exchange for the almighty dollar, but the people who work at this newspaper are not OK with it. I know the history of corruption, abuse of power and the unsolved murders. We have received dozens of anonymous letters and phone calls about corruption and dozens more warning us that our lives are at stake. So when Greg Burroughs’ girlfriend is found dying with a bullet in her head, of course, as one of the “privileged,” he fully expected he would be the one taken care of. It’s why he called his best friend, Judge Kyle Robertson, before he called 911. It’s why the Burroughs family was allowed to clean up the crime scene.

The married couple restores Southern homes in Laurel, Mississippi. Mayor Deal said she never complained about Glammayer to an employee or City Council member, and the investigation didn’t find evidence of her doing so. Investigators did find that she called an unnamed city worker to inquire about the lack of landscaping around the town’s historic Rainbow Bridge, which made the employee feel pressured to perform work that wasn’t budgeted for. Deal said she had said she wasn’t calling as the mayor — just a concerned citizen — and volunteered to help. But City Councilman Clint Anderson said she’s always the mayor.

Together with Ben's craftsmanship skills and Erin's creative eye as an artist, the two are unstoppable and wind up improving their town while maintaining its original local charm. Gale Robinson is a freelance writer who contributes regularly to clients on writing sites like HireWriters and Textbroker by writing blogs, press releases, web pages, reviews, and product descriptions. As a businesswoman and entrepreneur, Ms. Robinson started a company in California with five local stores and a popular website called 4moneyandmore.com. After that, she started dedicating her time to writing and affiliate marketing.

The dark side of Home Town

Main Street was packed with cheering townspeople, from the high school football team to local shop owners. Bringing positive attention to their hometown was a major factor in the couple's decision to star in the show, currently airing its second season. In each episode, the husband and wife (and brand new parents!) help Laurel newcomers find and renovate their dream home. Along the way, we get a good look at the quaint town that the hosts are so very proud of. A $20,000 private investigation into the matter created major drama in the town, as Glammayer quit and rumors flew. Former Mayor Jack Darnell accused city leaders of being a “Good Ol’ Boys Club,” potentially giving Deal a hard time as Fort Morgan’s first female mayor.

Upstairs is a bed and breakfast, which the Napiers recommend for Laurel lodging in this Google map, along with Hampton Inn & Suites Laurel, MS and Holiday Inn Express & Suites Laurel. For a more personal experience, Mallorie and Jim listed their cozy "Laurel Cottages" on Airbnb, and fans of the show can even rent singer-songwriter Amber Hayes's "Bohemian Craftsman" from Season 1. Since doing so much work in Laurel, Ben and Erin have gone on to help other small towns. In Home Town Takeover, the Napiers shift their focus to Wetumpka, Alabama.

Napier also added in her post that the items shown during the episode are available to purchase at the Laurel Mercantile’s website. After their decision, Mayor Deal presented a “surprise” for the council members and residents who had gathered for the meeting. In a slide show, she shared photos of progress being made by HGTV to redo the landscaping and signage around the Rainbow Bridge and requested that the Council make sure to provide funding in the future to maintain the work being done there.

In the end, Ben and Erin create the ultimate gathering place complete with a custom table for outdoor dining and a pergola party area. The couple met while they were students at the University of Mississippi and were married in 2008. They have two daughters, Helen, who was born in January 2018, and Mae, who was born on May 28, 2021. The couple also recently appeared in one of Discovery+’s new scripted holiday movies, “A Christmas Open House,” which is available to stream on the platform now.

Real-Life Married Couple

Mayor Deal, who’s already filmed segments for the show, believes the town will recoup its investments once the show airs, generating tourism dollars from “Home Town” viewers interested in visiting Fort Morgan. In Fort Morgan, however, some of the excitement has been overshadowed by small-town drama. For starters, leaders and community members have questioned Mayor Lyn Deal about unexpected fees and a lack of communication about the 18 renovation projects planned or already underway around the town. Then for $185,000, a cottage originally restored for married couple Mackenzie and Jim Hurt, has been put up for sale. He grew up across the globe, living in Belize for the last ten years of his life.

The six-episode spinoff will feature the Napiers working with another community to renovate multiple homes and public spaces within a single town. It was announced on July 2, 2020, that Wetumpka, Alabama, will be the town featured in this new show. Erin and Ben Napier renovate houses in the historic district of Laurel, Mississippi. After being featured in Southern Weddings magazine and on the magazine's Instagram, they were contacted by HGTV. The show premiered in January 2016 and has been highly rated in the first three of the show's aired seasons.
