A plumber found loads of drywall shoved down in the tub drain. Of course this company offered no apology for anything. Really upset that company isn’t responsible for installation of A/C unit. How could we prevent the pipes rubbing together due to vibration of the machine causing a hole to leak out coolant. My husband and I have called this house the Money Pit. He says it’s a crack where the wall and floor connect. A while later the grout around the pan is cracked all the way around and the tiles have grout missing and the blue color is back on the outside by the shower. The grout is coming away and also around the tub which we never use. Oh and all the silicone around the vanity, kitchen counter same thing. Initially we were told the deposit was refundable. However I am happy to report that Dolly and Highland Homes refunded our earnest money deposit after they sold the Prosper home we were going to buy. Now that they are selling the home to another buyer and a higher price, we just want our deposit returned that is rightfully owed to us. We have explained all of this to the sales rep of Highland Homes in Prosper, and she has continued to refuse to return the money.

The sprinklers spray into our front door which is not sealed properly, and now wood floor is warped at front. I along with many regret building with this company. You guys use cheap material and cheap contractors. I have worked with several builders over the years, and none of them come close to Highland Homes. Their staff from showing to contract to design center to building to closing to after-sale checkup are second to none! For the first time in my life, building a new home was a pleasurable experience.

We were under a contingent contract to purchase a Highland inventory home in Prosper. The sales rep and our realtor both told us our earnest money deposit for our contingent contract would be refunded if we were unable to sell our home in time and follow through to purchase the home. Due to a significant slow down in the market, our home took longer to solidify a contract and our contingency expired. When we did finally get a contract on our home, the Highland Home we were previously contracted for was still available for purchase.
We were in discussions with the Highland Rep to sign a new contract when the sales rep contracted with another buyer instead. It has been uncovered that we have been lied to and deceived numerous times throughout this process. Highland Hills is a gated community with only 35 single family homes available and offering the conveniences of one of the fastest growing areas on Florida´s west coast.
